A report issued by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology said that the Internet users in the provinces spent in front of computers in their homes 8 billion minutes to browse the web and send email and all other applications on the network over in 2007.

He added that the minutes used in the Internet access of citizens in Egypt are estimated at roughly an average of 560 million minutes per month and that the number of homes connected to the Internet is closer to the normal average of 800 thousand houses during in 2007 in addition to increasing the number of connected through hyperlinks and high-speed Internet DSL for almost half a million users.

The indicators revealed that more areas at the level of Egypt's request for this service is the Greater Cairo by 66 percent, followed by 14 percent Delta areas of Alexandria and then raised by 12 percent, followed by the Suez Canal and Sinai and the Red Sea by 4 percent while the total number of companies that provide Internet services to subscribers in Egypt's 208 companies Through 297 different telephone number.

The report pointed out that the number of computers that were sold through a computer for every home initiative, which began in November 2002 reached 155 thousand computer system almost at the level of concentrated mostly in Cairo, Egypt.
